Postcard
A postcard depicting the monument in Place Colbert (later Place de l'Indépendance) in Antaninarenina, erected in the memory of the soldiers killed during the French conquest of Madagascar. On the reverse, the card bears a 10-centime red definitive stamp issued in 1903 (Michel catalogue code: MG 63; Yvert et Tellier catalogue code: MG 67). The card is postmarked in Tananarive (Antananarivo), Madagascar, and dated 16 January 1905.
