A late nineteenth-century edition of this novel by Daniel Defoe. It tells the tale of an Englishman, taken from a well-to-do family as a child and raised by gypsies, who eventually makes his way to sea. The book follows Singleton's crossing of Africa and his life as a pirate. At one point he becomes stranded with several shipmates on the shores of Madagascar.

Condition of Item

Very Good. Green silk with gilt top edge and rough cut pages. Board corners lightly bumped. Illustrations with tissue covering. Register ribbon is detached but present.
