Postage Stamp
A black semi-postal stamp depicting a rural scene of a man ploughing with a zebu with a ravenala tree (traveller's palm) in the background; in the top right corner is a head-and-shoulders portrait of General Joseph Simon Gallieni, colonial Governor of Madagascar. The stamp commemorates the 50th anniversary of the annexation of Madagascar by France. It was issued in 1946 and has a face value of 10+5 francs.
