A Malagasy banknote issued by Banky Foiben'i Madagasikara to the value of 100 Ariary. On the front is depicted a Malagasy boy carrying fish, and on the reverse an aerial view of Toamasina and a Marxist design featuring a rifle, shovel and pen. There is a watermark of a zebu head. This design dates back to 1983, but notes with a vertical serial number and bearing this signature (Gouverneur Blandin Razafimanjato) were not introduced until 1988.
